Volvo trucks dealership, Truck and Bus Wales and West recently supported two Regional Safety Days organised by Hills Quarry Products Ltd. of Swindon.

Long established Volvo customers, Hills Quarry Products remain at the forefront of cycle awareness, placing safety at the top of its transport agenda.

The company recognises there are synergies between both brands in terms of safety being at the core of day to day operations, a fundamental reason why Volvo has a significant presence within the Swindon-based fleet. Increasingly, Volvo is developing active safety programmes that add clear value over previous systems.

The first South West Regional Safety Day was aimed at quarry supervisors, foremen and drivers, when ten separate displays were available for the 120 attendees to visit throughout the day. The two Volvo trucks were used for Vulnerable Road User and Driver Awareness presentations.

The second day focused on Cycle Safety Awareness and around 130 children, with ages ranging from 8 to 13 years, attended from local schools. After a general safety introduction, groups of children participated in six separate 25-minute slots that included a ‘See and Be Seen' presentation from Volvo Trucks.
