And to have easy access to the right information in all possible situations – when driving, loading, finding the right route or keeping track of your driver times and vehicle status.
A fully digital instrument display gives you freedom to optimise the interface for every moment of using your truck. If you’re used to Volvo Trucks’ well-organised analogue interface, you’ll still feel right at home.
The instrument display has four different modes, which can be switched depending on what you’re doing at the moment and what information you need to prioritise. Naturally, your truck specification and your truck use will determine the detailed functions available in each mode. But in general the modes are:
All functions presented in the driver interface are easily navigated and controlled by using the steering wheel buttons. Regardless of the situation, it supports you in keeping your hands on the steering wheel and your attention on your driving.
On the right-hand side of the dashboard, there’s the 9-inch side display with touchscreen. Here’s where you control your media and communication functions, using an interface you’re used to from your smartphone. In the side display, the camera views are presented. There are also modules for handling your tasks, vehicle and superstructure functions, to name a few examples. Control the side display functions using the touchscreen, steering wheel control, the control buttons on the dashboard or the voice control.
The side display can be opened for the integration of third-party apps on your screen. You’ll be able to work more efficiently, not to mention more safely.
Life just became a whole lot easier with Alexa Built-In, now available in your truck. Placing phone calls, listening to the news, asking for directions, accessing audiobooks, playing your favorite songs and checking road and traffic conditions are just a handful of examples of what you can do with Alexa, all while keeping your hands on the steering wheel and your eyes on the road.
