Founded in Evesham during 1990, Jet Plant Hire Ltd.'s first truck was a Volvo FL7 and its lifetime association with the marque includes many professional shared values.
Supplied by Pete Swinnerton, Transport Solutions Executive at Truck and Bus Wales and West, Evesham, the FMX 6x4 rigid chassis were specified with Globetrotter cabs, Volvo D13K engines rated at 460hp and Boweld TaperLite HD tipper bodies.
Increased ground clearance levels are thanks to Volvo's X-High rear air suspension and N3G straight front axles. The FMXs will also haul platform trailers to transport road planing equipment, thereby delivering maximum vehicle utilisation levels for the company.
The sole Volvo FE 4x2 rigid was selected with a standard height chassis, all-round steel suspension and a Volvo D8K engine producing 280hp. A waste container body comes with cable lift equipment by MHF (UK) Ltd.
All the new Volvos feature I-Shift automated transmissions and Gold Contract repair and maintenance agreements. A comprehensive list of safety equipment that includes factory-fitted lower passenger door glazing, all-round camera systems and side scan left turn warning systems, are also present on the six trucks.
