Volvo Bodybuilder Instructions
Accessible 24/7 and available in 12 languages, Volvo Bodybuilder Instructions is an essential resource for body builders to start preparing and optimizing their work while we build your truck. Superstructure instructions include chassis drawings, wiring diagrams, data sheets and accessories.
Body builder module
This feature makes it easy for the body builder to tap into the truck’s electrical system to tailor functions. The body builder module is conveniently accessed through flexible dashboard switches and Work Remote.
Straight frame
The Volvo frame is completely straight and parallel behind the cab, making the body builder’s job a whole lot easier.
Frame heights and inner liners
Choose between a 266 mm or 300 mm frame to match the demands of your superstructure. Heavy applications mean lots of strain on the frame. Therefore, we offer a wide range of inner liners to provide all the reinforcement you need.
Dedicated holes
The frame comes with an upper row of holes designated for the superstructure. Since we don’t use any rivets, the body builder can easily attach equipment.
Prepared for a crane
A low chassis and high axle loads are on every crane builder’s wish list. Our chassis come with both. We can also create Free Frame Space near the cab and deliver your truck with factory-mounted crane plates.
Power take-offs
A wide range of clutch-independent and clutch-dependent power take-offs are available to drive all sorts of body equipment. For electric trucks, there are electric power take-offs available with 600V DC or 400V AC capacity.
Perfect for swap bodies
Combined with the extra-low chassis, the 295 mm stroke of the new rear air suspension is the perfect solution if you transport temporary bodies.
Rear overhang and cuts
The rear frame can now be factory cut in 50 mm increments. Choose between factory with four different rear frame end cuts: upper (for tippers, hook-lifts and refuse trucks), lower (for center axle trailers), bent (for tractors) or straight (for rigid trucks).
Rear underrun position
To widen the rear end options even further, the rear underrun protection can be placed in several different positions.
Attachment brackets
The chassis can be factory prepared with body attachment brackets, mounted on the frame – now available not only in the wheelbase area but also on the rear overhang.
