Volvo FH Electric

The Volvo FH Electric is a flexible heavy-duty truck with high payload capabilities, great for city-to-city deliveries, construction site haulage, and long-range assignments. It’s powerful, yet energy-efficient, produces zero tailpipe emissions, and can be charged fast. Plus with smooth handling and high power take-off outputs it’s suitable for a wide range of applications from tipper bodies to refrigeration units.

A cleaner today and tomorrow

With emissions and noise regulations tightening, the need for real CO₂ reductions is already here. Since 2019, we’ve supported transport operators in adding electric trucks to their fleets—or transitioning fully—with confidence. From selecting the right truck to comprehensive service contracts and connected digital services, we deliver solutions designed to integrate seamlessly into the way you already operate.

Fast charging capabilities

With up to 350 kW charging power at below 750 V, the Volvo FH Electric can be charged from 20% to 80% in around 65 minutes, which is great for depot charging or planned stops.

The scene is captured from a low front‑three‑quarter angle, highlighting the vehicle’s movement and aerodynamic design.

Reliable power

Cost-effective and designed for easy installation, the transmission power take-off (PTO) can run while the truck is charging, which is great for applications like mixers that need to constantly run. It’s clutch-independent and limits the need for an electro-mechanical PTO in many applications. For road-building sites that means vehicles can be driven slowly while distributing gravel.

Energy efficient for high productivity

The energy storage system on the Volvo FH Electric comes with long-lasting batteries with a potential lifespan of up to ten years. They’re optimised for the battery monitoring system that gives accurate indications when the battery is low – plus with onboard energy of up to 540 kWh you’ll get the necessary power for a wide range of applications.

Optimised for electric

The Volvo FH Electric is equipped with a powerful and energy-efficient electric drive unit. With a twin engine developed with powershift, you get low energy consumption, smooth acceleration, seamless gear shifting, and minimised performance losses. It also maximises the recuperated energy, ensuring maximum range and energy efficiency.

All in one unit

The Volvo FH Electric has a powerful and energy-efficient drive unit that integrates the driveline, power electronics, and transmission. With two electric motors and an eight speed transmission with powershift, you get seamless gear shifting and smoother acceleration.

Power, made useful

Developed for a range of applications the electrical power take-off (ePTO) delivers reliable electric power with easy body builder access, making integration simple and efficient.

The components are arranged to display both the internal module stack and the outer casing design.

Long-lasting energy

With flexible battery configurations, the energy-efficient system delivers up to 540 kWh of onboard energy, with up to 460 kWh available for use.

Smooth, safe, and intuitive

Advanced drivability features work together to give you precise control at low speeds, confident traction in demanding conditions, and responsive performance when you need it.

One-pedal driving

Great for in the city or on the highway, one-pedal driving offers stronger retardation power and the possibility to select a suitable retardation level for a smoother ride.

Auto Go

Keeps the vehicle moving at a set minimum speed, which is perfect for tippers driving at low speeds.  At a standstill, when the brake pedal is released the truck will start to move at a speed of 1,5km/h.

Change Direction

Faster and smoother transition from forward to reverse, with direction changes possible of up to 30 km/h – ideal for tight maneuverability on construction sites.

Active Grip Control

Excellent traction grip and startability on surfaces like ice or building site gravel.
