The already award-winning Volvo FH Aero has just made history - achieving an incredible 11.25 MPG* when tested by Commercial Motor around its challenging 477 mile road test route. This isn't just a new record - it's a leap forward in real-world fuel performance.
But that's not all.
We're proud to announce that Volvo Trucks is now the first manufacturer to break into double-digit MPG territory in a Commercial Motor road test at 44-tonnes. The FH Aero didn't just edge past the previous benchmark - it smashed it, outperforming the 2022 record of 9.82 MPG** set in an FH with I-Save.
*Commercial Motor (CM) (13.11.2025 – Vol. 241, No. 6173) tested the Volvo FH 460 6x2 with I-Save around the CM Scottish test route, a representative long-haul test route of 477 miles at maximum GVW. Real world fuel performance depends on many factors, i.e. driving speed, use of driver support systems, vehicle specification, vehicle load, topography, the driver’s experience, vehicle maintenance and weather conditions.
