Supplied by Jamie Stanley, Truck Sales Executive at Hartshorne Motor Services Ltd, the FH 6x2 pusher axle tractor unit will be used on long distance and local deliveries of earth and aggregate solutions. The 4,100mm wheelbase prime mover comes with a Globetrotter Cab, a Volvo D13K 13-litre engine rated at 500hp and a 12-speed I-Shift Dual Clutch automated transmission system, driving an RSS1356 rear axle with a ratio of 3.44:1. The rear air suspension chassis is also fitted with a steel front bumper for off-road site work.

Inside JPE Holdings' inaugural Volvo FH tractor unit, the driver benefits from Drive Plus and Single Bed Living packages, plus full leather seats, an under-bunk fridge/freezer and Satnav package. In addition to a special livery, the truck also carries a cherished registration mark; ‘X10 CPP', that pays tribute to company founder Colin Peter Price, who died last year.

The FH hauls a Fruehauf tipping trailer and a number of on-board safety features include an on-board weighing system, in-cab tipping and Vision Technique cameras. The Wolverhampton-based company are an established Volvo Trucks customer, operating over 30 FM/FMX rigid tippers on aggregate deliveries and muck shifting. The fleet uses Volvo's Dynafleet telematics gateway to monitor punctuality, fuel consumption and driving style.

"All of our Volvo trucks are on contract maintenance with Hartshorne Motor Services; we get a fantastic service level from them," reports Stephanie Price, Transport Director at JPE Holdings Ltd. adding, "We've always run Volvos, I find them reliable and well suited to our job."
