Sales of Volvo's FH Unlimited Edition raise £70,000 for NHS charities together

Less than six months after launching the FH Unlimited Edition tractor unit, Volvo Trucks has presented NHS Charities Together with a cheque for £70,000 – following its pledge to donate £1,000 for every special edition model sold in the UK.

Christian Coolsaet, Managing Director of Volvo Trucks UK & Ireland, handed over the cheque to Justine Davy, Head of Fundraising at NHS Charities Together, during a socially distanced meeting outside Volvo Trucks head office in Warwick, alongside one of the first FH Unlimited Edition trucks.

Speaking at the handover, Coolsaet said: “We had a project group working on our FH Unlimited Edition launch, at the exact time when the country was standing on their doorsteps clapping for the NHS each week. Suddenly the idea of involving them in our plans came together; it’s been incredibly well received by our colleagues, customers and dealers alike, and we’re delighted to have helped to raise £70,000 to support an amazing collective of NHS charities.”

Receiving the cheque, Davy said: “We’ve been utterly overwhelmed by the huge outpouring of support our Covid-19 Appeal has received, and we are extremely grateful to everyone at Volvo Trucks for involving us in their campaign. The funds are being shared with NHS charities the length and breadth of the UK, supporting NHS staff, volunteers and patients through the immediate and long-term effects of the pandemic – in ways above and beyond that which government funding can ordinarily provide.”
