Supplied by Jonny Devlin, Transport Solutions Executive, Volvo Truck and Bus Centre North & Scotland, the trucks each sport a striking black, yellow and gold livery, celebrating the prestigious five-star rating secured in the Euro NCAP heavy-duty truck safety tests in 2024, when the FH Aero and the Volvo FM were the only two heavy trucks to be awarded the top score.

These trucks give our drivers and our customers a level of protection we strongly value, so when the limited-edition models first came out, we ordered straight away because we could see how the specification pushed things forward for the industry and for our business.

To reach Euro NCAP’s highest five-star standard, the Special Edition trucks features Volvo’s Camera Monitoring System (CMS), Predictive Cruise Control with Speed Adaptation, Volvo Dynamic Steering, Lane Change Support and Passenger Corner Camera. Passenger Side-Turn Emergency Brake and Headway Support are also added to the factory-build specification.
Additionally, in accordance with the General Safety Regulation 2 level – launched by the European Union to reduce deaths and serious injuries on the road by introducing state-of-the-art safety technologies as standard vehicle equipment – Emergency Stop Signal, Reversing Safety Camera, Blind Spot Information System, Intelligent Speed Assistance, Driver Alert Support, Alcohol Interlock Installation, and the Moving Off Information System are all included.
When assessed, the FH Aero also received Euro NCAP’s City Safe award for trucks that feature technologies or good design which can prevent accidents that typically happen in cities or urban environments.
On top of all the safety features, the FH Aeros are powered a Euro 6-compliant D13TC Step E engine that leverages turbo compounding to produce up to 500 hp and a peak torque of 2,800 Nm, paired with a 12-speed I-Shift automated gearbox and I-See predictive cruise control to yield significant sustainability benefits.
To improve driver comfort inside the Globetrotter cab, Jordan TM has opted to add I-Park Cool to the specification. This intelligent overnight air conditioning system helps to keep the cab at a perfect temperature overnight, whatever the weather.
“The drivers have responded well to the new trucks, and they have already made a noticeable impact on the road,” adds Wilson. “For a fleet that once flew under the radar, these new tractor units have lifted our profile and given us a strong platform for the next phase of our expansion.”
As with all FH Aero Euro NCAP Special Edition tractor units, Jordan TM’s fleet additions are backed by a comprehensive 24-month Volvo Gold Contract, ensuring total peace of mind. Expected to be on the road six days a week, the trucks will operate throughout the UK, clocking up to 150,000 km annually.
Founded in 2016, family-run Jordan TM provides general haulage services throughout the UK, while also operating a commercial workshop and offering warehouse capacity in Bathgate and Stoke on Trent. The Special Edition trucks join a 44-strong commercial vehicle fleet, of which 38 units are now Volvo-supplied.
