VOLVO PARTS WARRANTY

All new genuine Volvo parts and accessories and Volvo exchange parts purchased from an authorised Volvo workshop have the benefit of the Volvo Parts Warranty. The Volvo Parts Warranty provides for free repair or replacement of any part manufactured with defective materials or defective workmanship existing at the time of purchase. Parts are covered for 12 months from the purchase date of the part from the authorised Volvo workshop irrespective of the mileage covered.

Parts replaced under the Volvo Parts Warranty benefit from the balance of the original warranty period.

The Volvo Parts Warranty does not benefit from the provision of breakdown assistance and does not cover the cost of labour incurred in fitting the repaired or replacement part or the costs arising from any consequential damage to the vehicle.

Volvo Parts Warranty - Claim Process

To claim under the Volvo Parts Warranty you must provide the original invoice from the authorised Volvo workshop specifying the purchase date and part number and part serial number (if stated on part).

Volvo Fitted Parts Warranty

All new genuine Volvo parts and accessories and Volvo exchange parts purchased from an authorised Volvo workshop have the benefit of the Volvo Fitted Parts Warranty when they are fitted by a Qualified Technician*at a Qualifying Location**. The Volvo Fitted Parts Warranty provides for free fitting and repair or replacement of any part manufactured with defective materials or defective workmanship existing at the time of purchase. Parts are covered for 24 months from the date of purchase of the part from the authorised Volvo workshop irrespective of the mileage covered.

In addition if the defective part results in a breakdown or causes consequential damage the Volvo Fitted Parts Warranty covers the cost of these too.

Parts replaced under the Volvo Fitted Parts Warranty benefit from the balance of the original warranty period.

To benefit from the full range of benefits available all repairs to the vehicle carried out under the Volvo Fitted Parts Warranty must be completed in an authorised Volvo workshop.

Volvo Fitted Parts Warranty - Claim Process

To claim under the Volvo Fitted Parts Warranty for parts fitted in an Authorised Volvo workshop you must provide reasonable evidence that the technician was a Qualified Technician*, the original invoice from the authorised Volvo workshop specifying the purchase date and part number and part serial number (if stated on part), the vehicle identification number and evidence of fitment (i.e labour costs).

To claim under the Volvo Fitted Parts Warranty for parts fitted other than in an authorised Volvo workshop you must provide reasonable evidence that the technician was a Qualified Technician*, the original invoice from the workshop specifying the fitment date and part number and part serial number (if stated on part), the vehicle identification number and evidence of fitment (i.e labour costs) together with reasonable evidence of the authorised Volvo workshop from which the part was originally purchased and the purchase date (from the authorised Volvo workshop).

Exclusions and Limitations Applying To Both The Volvo Parts Warranty And The Volvo Fitted Parts Warranty

Damage as a result of normal wear and tear.

Costs related to the disassembly and/or reassembly of equipment, superstructures or other installations installed by someone else than Volvo.

Any losses, costs or damage, including load, lodging, phone calls, meals, express deliveries, lost time, inconvenience, loss of transportation, or any other related or consequential loss or damage you (or anyone else) may get.

Damage resulting from improper handling, incorrect or excessive storage time by authorized dealer/workshop/customer (parts should be stored in their original packaging).

The part has not been maintained in accordance with Volvo recommendations.

The part has not been originally purchased from an authorized Volvo workshop.

The part has been paid by Volvo e.g. under vehicle or drive line warranty or replaced during a special commitment code period (SCC).

The part has been damaged by neglect, accident, improper use, fitting or adjustment.

The part or other related parts (incl. software) has been altered from Volvo specifications or used for a purpose for which it was not designed or intended.

The part has broken anti-tamper seals.

The part is damaged or worn due to the failure of another part or “non-genuine part”.

The part must be correctly fitted to the vehicle for which it was designed.

Consequential damage is limited to Genuine Volvo Parts damaged as a direct result of the defective part covered by this warranty.

Breakdown assistance and consequential damage cover is only applicable if the warranty repair or replacement is carried out by an authorized Volvo workshop. Breakdown assistance is limited to recovery of the vehicle to the nearest authorised Volvo Workshop in circumstances where the vehicle is incapable of being driven or the vehicle represents a road safety hazard when being driven.

For the avoidance of doubt the following losses are expressly excluded from both the Volvo Parts Warranty and the Volvo Fitted Parts Warranty:

(a) any losses, costs or damage, including loss of use, profit, expected savings, load, lodging, phone calls, meals, express deliveries, lost time, inconvenience, loss of transportation, or any other direct, indirect, incidental or consequential loss or damage the customer (or anyone else) may incur as a result of a defect covered by the warranty;

(b) costs related to the disassembly and/or reassembly of equipment, superstructures or other installations installed by someone other than Volvo.

Territorial Application

The Volvo Parts Warranty can be claimed in any country in which Volvo operates an authorised repair network.

If the original fitment was in an authorised Volvo workshop:

(a) the Volvo Fitted Parts Warranty can be claimed in any country in which Volvo operates an authorised repair network for the first 12 months of the warranty period. In the second 12 months of the Volvo Fitted Parts Warranty,  the Volvo Fitted Parts Warranty can be claimed in the EEA, Switzerland, South Africa, Israel, South Korea, Albania, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Gibraltar, Greenland, Macedonia, Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, Russia, San Marino, Serbia, Ukraine, Vatican City State, Australia and Brazil; and

(b) breakdown assistance is available in Albania, Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Republic of Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom and Ukraine.

If the original fitment was not in an Authorised Volvo Workshop:

(a) the Volvo Fitted Parts Warranty shall apply in the EEA and Switzerland; and

(b) breakdown assistance is available in the EEA and Switzerland.

General

This warranty statement is applicable to all genuine Volvo parts purchased from the authorised Volvo network in the EEA or Switzerland. The Volvo Parts Warranty and the Volvo Fitted Parts Warranty are subject to terms and conditions that may be updated from time to time. The warranty terms that apply will be those in force at the date of purchase.

* A Qualified Technician is a vehicle technician who has (i) been trained on a Volvo approved training course on the relevant vehicle (based on the training that is available at the time of the original fitment or warranty repair (as applicable)); and (ii) access in their workshop to the up-to-date Volvo technical service information pertaining to the relevant fitment or warranty repair; and (iii) access in their workshop to appropriate specialist tools including those supplied by Volvo pertaining to the relevant repair or maintenance job.

** A Qualifying Location means either (i) an authorised Volvo workshop or (ii) a workshop outside of the authorised Volvo network genuinely operated as a trading business that operates to sell repair and maintenance services to third party vehicles.
